Bitcoin ETFs See Massive Net Outflow, Missing Annual Inflow Targets
US spot Bitcoin ETFs are facing significant pressure, reporting a massive net outflow as of early November. The funds have paid out $26.1 billion against $25.6 billion in inflows, putting 2026 at risk of being the first calendar year of net outflows since the ETFs launched in January 2024.
>As of November 5, data shows that US spot Bitcoin ETFs have experienced a net outflow of approximately $502 million for the current calendar year. The funds have taken in $25.6 billion while paying out $26.1 billion, resulting in a deficit.
This period of capital movement reflects little net demand from Wall Street's primary buying channel this year, according to SoSoValue data. The total assets held by the funds have decreased from $113.29 billion at the end of 2025 to $96.65 billion.
Selling intensified in early November, with the funds losing $869.8 million between November 2 and November 5. Even as investors swapped $3.89 billion in ETF shares on November 5, the money leaving continued to match the money arriving.
On the macro front, Bitcoin retested the $75,000 level as tech stocks declined, moving near $75,500 on Friday, per SoSoValue.
While the broader market sees outflows, some players are still active; Morgan Stanley’s Bitcoin ETF, MSBT, has successfully drawn $783 million in net inflows, according to SoSoValue.
To swing the 2026 numbers into positive territory, the funds will need net inflows of over $502 million across the final eight weeks of the year.
