Apple and Meta Block OKX Stock Tokenization, Rejection Tally Hits 67
Apple and Meta have rejected OKX's plan to tokenize their stocks, according to a WatcherGuru post on X. That brings the total number of companies refusing the exchange's stock-on-chain push to 67, a list stretching from Nvidia and Tesla to JPMorgan and McDonald's.
Apple and Meta both told OKX no. The two tech giants rejected the crypto exchange's plan to tokenize their shares, according to a WatcherGuru post on X, pushing the tally of companies that have turned the idea down to 67.
OKX's pitch was to put company stock on-chain, giving traders blockchain-based versions of shares that already trade on traditional exchanges. The rejection list now reads like a roll call of corporate America, spanning chips, banks, Big Tech, fast food, pharma and aerospace.
The chip crowd showed up in force: Nvidia, AMD, Intel, Broadcom, Qualcomm, Micron, Arm Holdings, Marvell, Lam Research and Applied Materials all said no. So did finance heavyweights JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs and Wells Fargo, alongside retail names Walmart, Costco, Home Depot and McDonald's.
Tech and media weren't spared either. Microsoft, Alphabet, Amazon, Netflix, Oracle, Adobe, Palantir, Reddit, CrowdStrike, ServiceNow and AppLovin are on the list, as are AI-infrastructure players CoreWeave, Nebius, Cerebras Systems and Supermicro.
The roster reaches well past Silicon Valley: Tesla, Boeing, SpaceX, Rocket Lab, Eli Lilly, Moderna, Coca-Cola, Verizon, Caterpillar, Nike, Dell, IBM and GE Vernova are among the 67, plus crypto-adjacent names like IREN and SoFi Technologies.
Apple and Meta are simply the newest additions to a list that keeps growing. With 67 companies now on record against OKX's tokenization push, the exchange's stock-on-chain ambitions are running into a wall built by the very companies it wanted to list.
