Robinhood's new $695 platinum card offers 5% dining cash back and lounge access
Robinhood is pushing a platinum-plated credit card with a $695 annual fee, 5% cash back on dining and flights, and 10% back on hotels booked in its app. The perks pile on Priority Pass lounges, hotel credits and a $250 Waymo credit, with Robinhood valuing them at over $3,000 a year.
Robinhood's newest card is aiming straight at premium travel wallets. It packs 99.9% pure platinum plating and weighs 27 grams, which Robinhood calls one of the heaviest cards around. The card also promises credit limits up to five times higher than the Robinhood Gold Card, according to the company.
The rewards are built for eating out and flying. Cardholders get 5% cash back on dining and 5% on flights booked in the Robinhood app, with no added fees or price markups on those bookings. Flyers can also score a $150 statement credit every six months.
Hotels get their own lane. Booking in the app earns 10% cash back, and Robinhood advertises $700 in annual hotel credits: up to $250 every six months plus $100 on-property for each stay. Premium hotel stays also come with a Platinum upgrade.
Travel extras are heavy on access and backup. The card includes unlimited entry to more than 1,400 Priority Pass lounges, auto rental coverage, trip cancellation insurance, travel accident insurance and dedicated support when plans go sideways. Robinhood also throws in a $250 annual Waymo credit, allotted monthly, and says the card carries a $120 value for smoother trips.
There's a concierge pitch, too. Cardholders can text a Platinum concierge for access to exclusive events, private flights and more, a feature Robinhood lists as coming soon. The card also comes with a complimentary Robinhood Gold membership.
All that comes with a $695 annual fee. Robinhood puts the yearly value of the perks at more than $3,000.
