Robinhood Chain's stock tokens are officially live. CEO Vlad Tenev flipped the switch and opened the door to developers, saying anyone can build around the tokens — and that AI agents can plug into them directly.
The network isn't trying to be everything to everyone. Robinhood is aiming for Robinhood Chain to become the go-to home for real-world assets and the meme sector, the company said. That's a deliberate two-front play: tokenized RWAs on one side, internet-native chaos on the other.
Why build something new instead of borrowing what's already out there? Robinhood's answer is blunt: existing public blockchains don't fully meet its specific needs, according to the company.
The product surface is already showing it off. Robinhood Wallet ships with a decentralized application browser and a display of the most popular Robinhood Chain tokens. The main Robinhood app lists popular Chain tokens in search and inside its Crypto section.
Developer support hasn't been an afterthought either. Robinhood has previously framed its investment in that area as a push to pull builders onto the network.
For Tenev, the pitch is openness: developers get the stock tokens as a foundation, and AI agents get direct access. Now the question is who shows up to build.
