Ondo Seizes Tokenization Crown as Solana's RWA Market Clears $5B
Ondo Finance launched seven tokenized investment portfolios on Solana and now stands as the world's largest tokenization platform. Solana's real-world asset market topped $5.12B as the NYSE widened its blockchain reach to nearly 99% of S&P 500 firms. Tesla, Amazon and Netflix, meanwhile, told OKX to keep its hands off their shares.
Ondo Finance is now the world's biggest tokenization platform, and it didn't stop there. The firm rolled out Intelligent Portfolios on Solana — seven tokenized investment portfolios bundling income, growth and sector-specific strategies into a single tap. It's the kind of one-stop shop that used to require a brokerage account and a lot of patience.
Solana's real-world asset market is already running hot. Distributed value of RWAs on the network hit $5.12 billion, according to crypto-economy.com, with an all-time high of $5.19 billion logged in October. That's an 18% jump in a single month, a pace that makes the chain look less like a crypto casino and more like a settlement layer.
The old guard is moving too. The New York Stock Exchange signed agreements with Broadridge Financial Solutions, Computershare, Equiniti and Superstate, pushing its roster of transfer agency partners to six. The NYSE says the expansion gives it access to nearly 99% of S&P 500 companies — a quiet but enormous bridge between Wall Street plumbing and blockchain rails.
Not everyone wants in. Tesla, Amazon and Netflix turned down OKX's pitch to issue tokenized versions of their shares, according to the report. The crypto exchange's push to wrap blue-chip equity in tokens just ran into three of the biggest names on the index.
Lending markets are thickening up alongside. Morpho's RWA markets logged $2.145 billion in deposits and $894.18 million in outstanding loans on October 28, with private credit doing much of the heavy lifting. Ripple president Monica Long also used the Swell conference stage to lay out a tokenization growth strategy, in conversation with Robinhood executive Johann Kerbrat — the two companies have announced a partnership.
Stack it up and the picture is clear: tokenized assets are climbing out of pilot mode and into real balance sheets. Ondo's Solana portfolios, Solana's $5 billion-plus RWA base and the NYSE's transfer-agent deals all point the same direction. What's still missing is the corporate seal of approval — and Tesla, Amazon and Netflix just showed how hard that is to get.
