Fox Redraws Digital Org as Roku Deal Closes, Collier and Sud Exit
Fox closed its Roku acquisition and immediately reshuffled the top deck: Roku Media president Charlie Collier and Tubi CEO Anjali Sud are both out, per a Friday staff memo. Mustafa Ozgen now leads Roku, Pete Distad absorbs Tubi and Frndly TV, and Mike Bidgoli takes the Tubi president title.
The Roku deal is signed, sealed and already rearranging furniture at Fox. In a Friday memo to staff, Anthony Wood and Paul Cheesebrough laid out a new digital structure — and a handful of high-profile exits to go with it. Charlie Collier, president of Roku Media, is leaving. So is Tubi CEO Anjali Sud, who Fox says is heading to a new role outside the company but will stick around to help with the handover.
Tubi Media Group gets a new name: Fox Digital Platforms. Mustafa Ozgen, who helped grow Roku past 100 million households, is now CEO of Roku, expanding beyond his Device, Product and Technology remit to take on AdRise advertising product and engineering, The Roku Channel, Streaming Services Partnerships, Roku Subscriptions, Howdy, Roku Pay, and brand and creative. The memo is explicit that Roku's open platform stays open — Fox says it intends to protect that.
Pete Distad, CEO of Fox Direct-to-Consumer and the man behind Fox One, picks up Tubi and Roku's Frndly TV effective immediately, betting that free and subscription services make for smarter bundles. Mike Bidgoli, an early Tubi investor who has run its product and engineering teams, is promoted to president of Tubi and reports to Distad. Lisa Holme, head of content for The Roku Channel, will report to Distad and work closely with Adam Lewinson and Tubi's content team. Andy Karofsky, co-founder and CEO of Frndly TV, joins Distad's group too.
Two more Roku-side leaders are heading for the door: Chris Handman, SVP and general counsel, and Robyn Peterson, EVP of AdRise, who helped Fox unify ad inventory and measurement across the portfolio. The memo thanks all three departing executives for their contributions.
The combined group is organizing around five goals for its first 100 days, from growing connected-TV share and free ad-supported streaming to premium subscriptions, performance advertising and international expansion. Melody Hildebrandt stays on as CTO overseeing IT, cybersecurity and AI adoption, while Jeff Dow, EVP of Platform and Media Technology, retires at the end of the fiscal year and the Tempe broadcast facility moves under Hildebrandt. Ad sales keep reporting to Jeff Collins, with Gil Fuchsberg as chief strategy officer.
Wood and Cheesebrough aren't pretending they have every answer on day one, telling staff they'll be clear about what's still open. Next up: town halls in San Jose and San Francisco on Monday, the Fox Lot and Santa Monica on Tuesday, Austin on Wednesday and New York on Thursday, with international offices to follow.
