Floki Pulls Telegram Trading Bot Offline After Exploit Discovery
Floki has taken its Telegram trading bot offline after finding an exploit early on Nov. 5. The project is warning users to stop depositing funds and says affected users will be shifted to new wallets. It has not disclosed how much money is at risk or how many users are affected.
Floki slammed the brakes on its Telegram-based trading bot after uncovering an exploit in the early hours of Nov. 5. In an advisory posted to X, the project told users to stop sending funds to bot wallets. Floki said it is still working out who was affected and will move their remaining funds into new wallets.
The project did not say how much money was lost or still exposed, and it did not give a number of affected users. Floki Trading Bot's documentation describes a service that manages a hot wallet and lets users buy and sell tokens through Telegram. Setup instructions tell users to create a trading wallet inside the bot and deposit crypto before trading.
For users who already exported a bot wallet's private key and still have funds sitting there, Floki said to move that money to a wallet only they control. That warning still applies even though the bot is offline, according to the project.
Floki also flagged the usual vultures: the team said it will never DM users first or ask for a seed phrase or private key. It told users to ignore anyone offering "refunds" or "recovery." The investigation is ongoing, and affected users are waiting for the promised wallet migration.
