Binance Eyes Full Withdrawal Restart by End of Next Week
Binance says the last locked tokens and networks should be open for withdrawals by the end of next week, wrapping up a phased recovery that started after a late-October security incident. More than 62 tokens are already back online. The clock is now ticking on the rest.
Binance is promising to finish what it started: withdrawals for every remaining listed token and restored network should be live by the end of next week. That would close out a recovery that kicked off after a security incident in late October. Deposits, notably, never went dark — only the exit door was shut.
The exchange didn't flip one master switch. It has been reopening one network-asset pair at a time since November 1, and in announcements on November 5 and 6 it said withdrawals were back for more than 62 tokens. That batch spans heavyweight networks including Ethereum and BNB Smart Chain, with the reopening beginning at 04:00 UTC on November 5. Some assets came back even earlier.
Binance picked the order by demand, ranking tokens on how badly users wanted them the week before. That pushed ETH, USDT and USDC to the front of the queue, which means liquidity in those names returned sooner than in smaller, less-traded tokens — a detail traders holding the stragglers have felt.
The first day of reopened withdrawals laid bare the mood. On November 1, Binance logged net outflows of roughly $3.64 billion across 15 networks, according to the outlet's reporting. That's $4.649 billion heading out against $1.01 billion coming in.
Binance reportedly refilled about 95% of the affected assets, leaning on its reserves — including the Secure Asset Fund for Users, or SAFU. Alongside the phased reopenings, the exchange refreshed its Proof of Reserves and published asset snapshots, the disclosures meant to show customer balances are fully backed.
For customers, the end-of-next-week target is the date to circle. The 95% replenishment figure covers most of the damage, but it also leaves a gap unaccounted for. Binance says it will keep pushing updates on the recovery and on which assets are available — and those refreshed Proof of Reserves numbers are likely to get a hard look from users and outside observers alike.
