Anthropic Reveals a Record $895B in Future AI Infrastructure Commitments
Anthropic just dropped the biggest spending tab the AI boom has seen: $895 billion in future infrastructure commitments, covering computing power and leases. Half of it lands by 2030, and roughly $70 billion is due within 12 months. Broadcom, Google, SpaceX and Amazon hold the largest slices.
Anthropic has disclosed $895 billion in future AI infrastructure spending commitments, according to @KobeissiLetter. The figure covers both purchase commitments and leases for computing power and related infrastructure. It's the largest obligation of its kind tied to a single AI developer.
Half of that total, about $448 billion, is expected to be incurred by the end of 2030. Roughly $70 billion comes due over the next 12 months alone. That's real money hitting the calendar soon, not a distant projection.
Broadcom, ticker $AVGO, holds the single biggest piece at $161 billion. Google follows at $121 billion, with up to $150 billion more in estimated spending on Google's AI chips. Anthropic also committed up to $121 billion to SpaceX, $SPCX, and at least $110 billion to Amazon, $AMZN.
The numbers land in sharper context next to Big Tech's own books. Among those giants, only Alphabet, $GOOGL, carries larger commitments at $1.06 trillion. Meta, $META, sits at $866 billion.
Put together, the disclosure paints a picture of an AI buildout underwritten years in advance and spread across chipmakers, cloud providers and launch partners. The scale of Anthropic's spending obligations, as Kobeissi put it, is unprecedented.
