Amundi Tokenizes a STOXX 600 Equity Fund on Ethereum
Europe's biggest asset manager just put an equity index fund on-chain. Amundi launched a tokenized share class of its STOXX Europe 600 fund on Ethereum, built with asset servicer CACEIS. It's the firm's second Ethereum play after a money market fund, and it lands as tokenized stocks near $4.24B.
Amundi is taking equities on-chain. Europe's largest fund manager by assets rolled out a tokenized share class of its STOXX Europe 600 equity index fund on Ethereum, the company said in a Thursday announcement. CACEIS, a European asset-servicing firm, supplied the tokenization infrastructure. Investors who prefer the old-school route haven't been cut off — the fund stays available through traditional channels too.
The fund tracks the STOXX Europe 600 Index, which packs in 600 large-, mid- and small-cap companies from developed European markets. Amundi says it wants to build out a wider lineup of tokenized funds aimed at institutional clients and digital platforms. The pitch: easier access, faster settlement and leaner operations.
This isn't Amundi's first trip to the blockchain. The firm launched its debut tokenized money market fund share class in November 2025, also built with CACEIS on Ethereum. Now the playbook is stretching from cash-like products into equities.
The timing rides a tokenized equities boom. The value of tokenized stocks hit $4.24 billion as of Wednesday, Nov. 4, up nearly 27% over 30 days, according to RWA.xyz data. The ten biggest tokenized equity products by value are all tied to US companies or US-listed securities, including Securitize, SpaceX, Circle and Alphabet — a reminder of where the market's weight still sits.
Europe wants to close that gap. In April, a coalition of 39 companies and industry groups warned the EU risked falling behind the US on tokenized finance. Their asks: broader asset eligibility, higher volume limits and an end to time restrictions on licenses under the bloc's Distributed Ledger Technology Pilot Regime. Amundi's latest move hands that argument a fresh headline.
Next up, watch whether more European issuers follow Amundi and CACEIS onto Ethereum — and whether regulators move on the DLT regime before the US tokenization lead gets any wider.
