Robinhood Hands Nvidia, Tesla and Apple Options a Pre-Dawn Trading Window
Robinhood says options on Nvidia, Tesla and Apple now trade outside the regular session, opening at 7:30am ET and running to 4:15pm ET. The move puts three of the most-traded names on Wall Street in front of and behind the opening bell.
Robinhood is stretching the trading day for options traders. In a post on X, the brokerage said contracts on Nvidia, Tesla and Apple have joined its extended hours lineup, giving three of the market's most crowded names a longer runway.
The new window runs from 7:30am to 9:25am ET before the open, then picks back up at 9:30am ET and runs through 4:15pm ET, per the announcement. That's a 15-minute extension past the usual closing bell, plus two hours of pre-market action.
The three tickers are familiar territory for Robinhood's retail-heavy user base. Nvidia and Tesla in particular have spent years as magnets for high-volume, headline-driven trading, the kind of names where news often breaks before the market officially wakes up.
Extended hours trading has become a bigger selling point for brokerages chasing active traders. The trade-off is thinner liquidity and wider spreads outside the standard session, a reality that applies to options just as it does to shares.
For now, the company is framing the expansion as a straightforward access play rather than a new product. Whether the roster grows beyond these three megacaps is the question traders will be watching next.
