Prince Jackson praises Jaafar Jackson's dedication in Michael Jackson biopic

Prince Jackson has seen his cousin Jaafar Jackson step into his father's shoes — and he came away impressed. According to AP, Michael Jackson's eldest son said of watching his cousin take on the role: 'I watched my cousin work his butt off.' The remark landed as the long-awaited biopic 'Michael' stays in the spotlight.

The family math here is tight. Jaafar Jackson is Michael Jackson's nephew, the son of Jermaine Jackson, and he's playing his own uncle on screen. Prince Jackson is Michael's oldest child, which makes his reaction less a review than a blessing from inside the house.

That kind of endorsement carries weight for a film built on one of the most scrutinized figures in pop history. Casting a relative was already a talking point; hearing a son publicly praise the effort adds another layer fans will chew on.

Details around the project have been closely guarded, and the Jackson family has largely kept quiet about the finished product. Prince Jackson's comment is one of the few windows into how the family sees the performance.

For now, the takeaway is simple: the cousin showed up, put in the work, and the son noticed. Whether audiences agree will be the real test.
