NYSE ropes in four more partners for tokenized stock platform
The NYSE added Broadridge, Computershare, Equiniti and Superstate to its tokenized securities push, bringing its transfer agent network to six. Together the new partners serve nearly 5,000 listed companies, including almost 99% of the S&P 500, as the exchange builds a 24/7 blockchain trading venue.
The New York Stock Exchange just widened its tokenization bet in a big way. The exchange signed up Broadridge Financial Solutions, Computershare, Equiniti and Superstate as transfer agent partners, per Crypto Briefing, as it builds toward a blockchain-based trading venue.
That makes six transfer agents in total. Securitize and tZERO were already on board, and the new quartet brings serious plumbing to the table. Broadridge, Computershare and Equiniti together serve nearly 5,000 publicly listed companies — including almost 99% of the S&P 500, according to NYSE.
The idea is to fuse old-school shareholder recordkeeping with blockchain rails. Securitize, Superstate and tZERO supply the digital infrastructure; the legacy firms handle the issuer services they've run for decades. Broadridge said separately it will deliver blockchain-based shareholder governance and digital transfer agency services, covering proxy voting, shareholder communications and digital identity checks so investors can vote through supported wallets and brokerage interfaces.
Broadridge isn't new to this world. It already pushes more than $360 billion in tokenized assets through its distributed ledger repo platform every day. NYSE Group president Lynn Martin framed the move as the latest chapter in the exchange's habit of rebuilding market infrastructure, adding that market integrity stays the priority.
This all traces back to January, when NYSE sketched out a digital platform promising 24/7 stock trading, instant settlement, dollar-denominated orders and stablecoin funding. The proposed venue pairs NYSE's Pillar matching engine with blockchain systems for settlement and custody, spanning multiple networks. It would handle both third-party custodial tokens and issuer-sponsored tokenized securities — structures designed to stay fungible with traditional shares, carrying the same dividends and voting rights.
The partnership trail runs from Securitize in March to tZERO in August, and now to four more names. One catch: the trading venue still needs regulatory approval, and there's no confirmed launch date.
