CrowdStrike drops $495M on Fiddler AI and Dreadnode to police AI agents
CrowdStrike is buying two AI security startups — Fiddler AI and Dreadnode — for a combined ~$495 million, according to reporting on the deals. One watches AI agents in production. The other stress-tests them before they ship. Together they sketch CrowdStrike's plan to own AI security from start to finish.
CrowdStrike is scooping up two AI security startups — Fiddler AI and Dreadnode — for a combined $495 million, according to reporting on the deals. Word dropped Nov. 3, 2026. CrowdStrike stayed mum on the price when it announced Fiddler and confirmed Dreadnode separately. Both deals should close in CrowdStrike's Q4 FY27, paid mostly in cash with some stock that vests over time.
Fiddler, out of Palo Alto and founded in 2018, zeroes in on observability and explainability — basically a window into what an AI system is doing and why. CEO George Kurtz kept it simple with an aviation metaphor: 'Flight recorder for every agent.' Fiddler's tech will power a new CrowdStrike product called Falcon Observe, expected to hit general availability in Q4 FY27.
Dreadnode is the young gun, founded in 2023 and focused on pre-deployment security testing. CrowdStrike says it'll beef up automated testing mapped to OWASP, MITRE ATLAS and NIST frameworks. On the money side, Fiddler is valued at roughly $400 million — about 4x the $100 million it raised. Dreadnode sits around $95 million, roughly 6.8x its $14 million Series A.
String it all together and CrowdStrike is stitching up a full lifecycle for AI safety. Dreadnode tests an agent before launch. Fiddler keeps watch once it's live. And the recently rolled-out 'AI Kill Switch' is the emergency brake if things go sideways. CrowdStrike isn't just using AI to hunt hackers anymore — it's selling the gear to keep the AI itself in line.
