Binance's Ether Stash Shrinks 37% While ETH Supply Hits Decade Low

Binance's Ethereum stash is shrinking fast. The exchange's ETH reserves have dropped 37%, and Ethereum's total supply has slid to its lowest level in a decade, according to crypto-economy.com.

For traders, both numbers matter. Reserves are the coins parked on the exchange, ready to move. Supply is the bigger picture of how much ETH exists at all. Right now, both are pointed the same direction — down.

The drawdown lands in the middle of a bruising stretch for Binance. By the outlet's own tally, the exchange absorbed a $6.3B hack, then bled $5.28B in cumulative net outflows once withdrawals came back online, with customers pulling $10.97B off the platform in roughly 46 hours.

The fallout from that theft is still moving. The FBI blamed North Korea, a claim Pyongyang rejected, with Kim Yo Jong calling the findings politically driven. South Korea's Financial Services Commission hauled major exchanges into an emergency security meeting, and the Arbitrum Security Council shifted more than 8,425 ETH plus 74 million ARB — about $30M — out of an address tied to the incident, without needing the attacker's key.

Investigators aren't closing the file. Roughly 28 BTC worth $2.2M slipped through 18 CoinJoin transactions between November 1 and November 2, per the outlet, while Elliptic keeps tracking $3.24B in assets linked to the case.

So where does that leave Binance's ether pile? No answer yet on whether it steadies or keeps sliding. For now, the exchange's ETH reserves and Ethereum's total supply are telling the same story.
