Trading Technologies Opens Bitstamp Crypto Markets to Institutional Desks
Institutional clients can now trade Bitstamp by Robinhood's crypto spot and derivatives markets directly through the Trading Technologies platform, the two firms announced Nov. 2, 2026. TT becomes the first major traditional-markets order and execution system to plug into Bitstamp, folding digital assets into the same workflow desks use for futures, fixed income and FX.
Institutional traders got a new door into crypto on Nov. 2, 2026. Trading Technologies International (TT) and Bitstamp by Robinhood said clients can now trade Bitstamp's digital asset markets straight through the TT platform. No separate crypto-native venue, no side workflow — the order flow runs where the rest of their book already lives.
The hook is multi-asset convenience. Spot crypto and derivatives from Bitstamp sit alongside futures, fixed income and foreign exchange inside TT's environment, with institutional-grade risk controls and unified post-trade workflows bolted on. The pitch lands hardest with firms scaling up digital asset desks in Asia-Pacific and North America, where availability depends on local rules.
There's a first here, too. According to the announcement, TT becomes the first major traditional-markets order and execution management system (O/EMS) to wire directly into Bitstamp by Robinhood. That flips the exchange's connectivity story beyond the crypto-native crowd and into the trading setups that banks and buy-side desks already run daily.
Tomo Tokuyama, TT's EVP and Managing Director of FX, framed it as giving desks digital asset access with the same execution tools, connectivity and risk controls they lean on in traditional markets. According to Tokuyama, the tie-up pipes crypto spot and perpetual futures liquidity into the TT workflow next to crypto derivatives, so clients can run execution across asset classes from one familiar screen.
Nicola White, Bitstamp by Robinhood's VP of Institutional Crypto and GM, said the link-up keeps the exchange's institutional distribution push rolling. In her telling, TT's traditional-markets roots hand Bitstamp a global pool of institutional traders, prop desks and buy-side firms who can reach its liquidity and execution services without leaving their main daily platform.
The two firms aren't stopping at plumbing. They plan joint educational initiatives and industry events aimed at pushing institutional adoption of digital assets further. TT, owned by Thoma Bravo and 7RIDGE, built its name in listed derivatives and now spans futures, options, fixed income, FX and crypto; Bitstamp, backed by Robinhood, bills itself as one of the longest-running crypto exchanges with spot and derivatives markets and a hefty regulatory foundation.
