Unidentified Woman Found Dead in Mesuji Palm Estate, Autopsy Planned

An unidentified woman was found dead in a palm oil plantation area in Desa Gedung Boga, Way Serdang district, Mesuji regency, Lampung, on Monday, 12 October 2026. The body was lying face-down in undergrowth at the edge of a dirt road. Lampung regional police confirmed the discovery and said officers are still working to establish who she was.

Footage received by IDN Times runs about 14 seconds and opens with a male teenager in a school uniform — white shirt, grey trousers and tie — walking along a dirt track. The camera then pans across what appears to be an open plantation or rural setting with oil palms, before showing a group of people, including uniformed students who had stopped their motorbikes at the roadside.

In the same recording, the camera focuses on the edge of the road near the bushes, where the woman's body is visible. According to IDN Times, she was wearing blue jeans and a white top, with her back exposed and a red cloth around her waist. People nearby can be heard talking, and a student in uniform is seen close to the spot on a motorcycle.

Lampung police public relations chief Kombes Yuni Iswandari Yuyun confirmed the find and said identification is ongoing. She said the Mesuji resort police crime unit chief reported that the woman's identity is not yet known, and that an identification team from Polres Mesuji is still at work.

Yuni said an initial examination turned up no signs of violence on the body. She added that further identification will be carried out, including an autopsy, and asked for time while the process proceeds. No further details about the woman or the circumstances of her death have been released.

The case remains under investigation, with the autopsy expected to help confirm her identity and the cause of death.
