Huawei-backed Aito to enter Europe in autumn 2027, brand says
Aito, the EV brand developed by Huawei and Seres, announced at the Paris Motor Show that it will begin European sales in autumn 2027. The company has started EU Whole Vehicle Type Approval work but has not named launch models, initial markets or prices.
Aito will enter the European market in autumn 2027, the Huawei-backed brand said during a media event at the Paris Motor Show on October 12. The timing firms up a launch window that had previously circulated only as an unconfirmed leak, according to CarNewsChina, which attended the event. Aito also confirmed it has started work on EU Whole Vehicle Type Approval, a step required before its cars can be sold in the bloc.
Four SUVs appeared on the stand in Paris: the Aito 6, Aito 7, Aito 8 and Aito 9, which are the brand's international model names. The flagship Aito 9 is sold as the M9 in China, while the Aito 6 corresponds to the M6 there. Showing the vehicles does not confirm which of them will be offered at launch, and Aito did not disclose its first European markets, launch models or pricing.
The brand was launched in December 2021 and ranks among China's largest electric vehicle makers, having sold 420,000 cars in 2025. It aims to reach annual output of 1 million vehicles by 2030 and builds both battery-electric and extended-range electric models. Europe would be its second major overseas push after the Middle East.
In February, Aito signed a cooperation agreement with Performance Plus Motors, a subsidiary of UAE dealer Abu Dhabi Motors, covering sales, deliveries and after-sales service, alongside plans for experience and service centers. Customer test drives of the Aito 9 had begun in the UAE at that time. Seres, Aito's co-developer, has already sold cars in Europe under its own name, delivering its first Seres 5 models in Bergen, Norway, through local dealer Sandven AS in June 2023.
Huawei, Seres's main partner in Aito, faces tightening restrictions in Europe, which could complicate the brand's entry, according to CarNewsChina. In China, the two companies signed a new five-year agreement on September 30 and said they would set up a dedicated joint Aito team. A September 15 announcement said Seres would lead Aito's product operations, marketing, retail and service network, with Huawei providing support; Aito remains part of the Huawei-led Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance and uses Huawei's ADS assisted driving and HarmonyOS cockpit systems.
